Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since the end of the 1980s. Her name has been praised by the media and for her television performances since the early 1980s. Bassett born in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt after being born at New York New York, is an acclaimed actress. Bassett's mother had split from her father at about five. In high school, Bassett was a spectator of John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actor. She went to Yale University New Haven Connecticut earning a bachelor's diploma (1980) with a major in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama.
